Gathering Blue - Lois Lowry Again, it is more a fantasy trying to be traditional fiction. It is so light on the fantasy elements and even though we know it is really a dystopia, I'm more likely to call it an artist novel. You know, a fruity "It's so hard being creative" subtext disguised as a post-historical study of a little village and a girl's quest to find her place in it. In other words, YA. I thought it was an ok novel, I don't have anything overtly bad to say about it except that I was... sigh... I'll say it... bored.

Maybe I should knock off a star, but I feel generous today.
